Summary
One drawback of Internet Explorer is it doesn't behave well when it's cache gets full. When a file such as a web page or image is viewed, IE makes a copy of it on your hard drive. This way if that file is needed again, it doesn't have to be downloaded. IE is supposed to automatically mange this cache so it stays within it's size allotment, and that old content is replaced with new content. However, recently one of our users found that manually emptying the cache fixed a problem where on her computer the RPM "Edit form" page wasn't displaying properly. I've personally noticed various IE problems that emptying the cache fixed, although not with using RPM. Emptying the cache is harmless, and should be done if you notice odd behavior with IE.
Emptying the IE cache
These instructions are for IE 6. IE 7 is almost identical.
Select "Internet Options..." from the "Tools menu"
Click "Delete Files..." under "Temporary Internet files"
Check the option "Delete all offline content" then click "OK"
If the cache is large, the delete may take several minutes. Once it is done click "OK" then close and restart IE.
