Summary
A system to import rep IDs. This can be used to both create + assign new rep IDs and assign existing rep IDs. This features shares some of the Common import functionality

File and data format

New or existing
Rep IDs must be unique per supplier. If the Rep ID is new for that supplier then a new rep ID will be created. If the rep ID already exists, it will be moved to the new rep or unassigned.
- A rep ID can not be moved from one suppleir to another.
- A rep ID can be a maximum of 64 characters in length. If the importer encounters a rep ID longer than 64 characters only the leftmost 64 characters will be imported.
Agency & rep
If a rep and agency are given and are valid, the rep ID will be assigned to that rep. If both the rep and agency are blank, the rep ID will be unassigned. The rep is a combination of the "First Name" and "Last Name" and "Agency" columns of the import file.
Confirmation panel and Logistics
The Rep ID import performs a validation step which produces a confirmation report detailing the results of a prospective import. There are several entries in the report:
- New - means a new RepID will be created
- Existing (moved) - means that an existing rep ID may be moved as a result of the import. If the rep indicated in a row already has the rep ID assigned to it, then the rep ID will not be moved. If there is no rep indicated then the rep ID will become unassigned. If the repID is currently unassigned the importer will assign the ID to whatever rep (if any) is indicated in the row.
- Invalid - means that either the supplier or rep indicated in the row was not found within the system.
- Incomplete - means that either the supplier indicated in the row was not filled in or two or less of the rep columns were filled in (if none of the rep columns are filled in, that does not count as incomplete since this is how rep IDs are unassigned ).
