Summary
RPM supports Internet Explorer 6 (IE6), but it is not recommended. IE 6 is over 10 years old. Compared to modern browsers it is slow, lacks support for modern website standards, and is a security risk.
- We are planning on removing support for IE6 in RPM 7.3 in early 2012

Performance best practices
If Internet Explorer 6 is required:
- Clear your IE file cache.
- Upgrade the script engine.
- Consider installing Google Chrome Frame (http://code.google.com/chrome/chromeframe/) which improves the rendering of supported sites from Internet Explorer without affecting other websites.

Known issues
- Case 1357: If Norton Security Phishing Protection is enabled then IE6 can't download files from RPM.
