Summary
The recycle bin in RPM allows a staff user to restore (undelete) things they deleted. It behaves similar to the recycle bin in Microsoft Windows. Once something has been erased from the recycle bin it is gone forever.

Deleting
Click the delete link or button to delete the thing or things (from a view).
Can't delete
If something has a commission history it can not be deleted.
- Example: A product that was used for one or more commission items can not be deleted.
Remove
When the word "remove" or "erase" is used, it means the thing will be erased right away. It doesn't go to the bin and there is no undo.
Restore
When restoring something from the recycle bin it follows the same rules as adding something new.
- Example: If the agency "AAA Networks" is deleted and a new agency is added with the same name, the old agency can not be restored because agencies must have unique names.
If something is deleted and something it belongs to is also deleted, only the highest thing in the hierarchy will be shown in the bin.
- Example: If a rep of the agency "AAA Networks" is deleted and then the agency is deleted, only the agency will show up in the recycle bin since the rep could not be restored when their agency is also deleted. Restoring the agency would then reveal the rep in the recycle bin. Other reps that were not deleted separately are restored with the agency. If the agency is emptied from the bin then all their reps are permanently erased as well.
Erase
Erasing something from the recycle bin removes it completely. There is no undo.
Cleanup
Items in the bin longer than a certain number of days are automatically erased.
Security
Staff users
- Staff users can only restore or erase items that they see in the bin. Staff users only see things they have deleted.
- Exception: Staff users in the "Super user" role see everything in the bin.
Agent users
- The recycle bin is hidden from agent users.
